STATE OF UTAH ELECTRIC GENERATION PLANT
SITING REQUIREMENTS

There is no single Utah State government agency with primary responsibility for electric generation plant siting.

The following State government agencies that could have some jurisdiction involving electric generation plant siting requirements (list may not be exhaustive) :

• Public Service Commission of Utah (utility certification issues)
• Department of Commerce
• Division of Public Utilities (utility certification issues)
• Department of Environmental Quality
• Division of Air Quality
• Division of Solid & Hazardous Waste
• Division of Water Quality
• Department of Natural Resources
• Office of Energy & Resource Planning
• Division of Wildlife Resources (state land issues)
• State Parks and Recreation (state land issues)
• School and Institutional Trust Lands Administration
• Surface Management (school land issues)
• Labor Commission
• Occupational Safety & Health Division

Each state agency should be contacted to determine the necessary requirements for the specific proposed project. See attached list of Utah State government agency addresses. Most interconnections in the state would be made with PacifiCorp.

The federal, county and local governments may also have some jurisdiction involving electric generation plant siting requirements.
